อุทยานแห่งชาติหาดวนกร ชายหาดอันลือชื่อของจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ที่ทอดตัวเป็นแนวยาวลงไปในทะเล ทิวทัศน์ที่เงียบสงบ หาดทรายขาวสะอาด บนฝั่งมีทิวสนทะเลและสนประดิพัทธ์เป็นแนวขนานกับทะเลในเขตตำบลห้วยทราย ตำบลคลองวาฬ อำเภอเมือง และตำบลห้วยยาง อำเภอทับสะแก จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ พันธุ์ไม้ส่วนใหญ่เป็นไม้ที่ปลูกขึ้นใหม่ได้แก่ สนทะเล สนประดิพัทธ์ สะเดา เป็นต้น มีสภาพป่าไม้ที่อุดมสมบูรณ์เหมาะสำหรับผู้ที่ต้องการศึกษาเส้นทางธรรมชาติ นอกจากนี้อุทยานแห่งนี้ยังติดกับทะเล โดยทะเลที่มีน้ำใส มีหาดทรายที่ขาวสะอาด บนฝั่งมีต้นสนให้ร่มเงา และวิวทิวทัศน์ที่สวยงาม เงียบสงบ เหมาะสำหรับผู้ที่ต้องการพักผ่อนเป็นอย่างมาก

ได้รับการจัดตั้งเป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติลำดับที่ 76 เมื่อวันที่ 30 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2535 โดยพื้นที่ของอุทยานแห่งนี้มีแนวชายหาดที่สวยงามของจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ คือ ชายหาดวนกร ที่ทอดตัวเป็นแนวยาวขนานกับทะเล รวมพื้นที่ทั้งชายฝั่งชายหาด และป่าไม้ทั้งหมด 23,750 ไร่ หรือประมาณ 38 ตารางกิโลเมตร

 อุทยานแห่งชาติหาดวนกร แต่เดิมเป็นป่าสงวนแห่งชาติป่าวังด้วนและป่าห้วยยาง เป็นที่ตั้งของสวนป่าห้วยทราย ในท้องที่อำเภอเมืองประจวบคีรีขันธ์ สวนป่าห้วยยาง สวนรุกขชาติห้วยยาง และสถานีวนกรรมห้วยยาง อยู่ในท้องที่อำเภอทับสะแก ต่อมาสถานีวนกรรมห้วยยางได้ถูกยกเลิกไป เมื่อทางกรมป่าไม้มีนโยบายที่จะจัดตั้งอุทยานแห่งชาติ จึงได้โอนพื้นที่แห่งนี้มาให้กองอุทยานแห่งชาติ ดำเนินการตั้งแต่ปี 2532 เป็นต้นมา และได้มีพระราชกฤษฎีกากำหนดบริเวณที่ดินป่าวังด้วน ป่าห้วยยาง และเกาะใกล้เคียงในท้องที่ตำบลห้วยทราย อำเภอเมือง ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ และตำบลห้วยยาง อำเภอทับสะแก จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ เข้าเป็นพื้นที่ของเขตอุทยานแห่งชาติหาดวนกร

On the shore, there are sea pine trees and pine pradiphat parallel to the sea in Huai Sai Subdistrict, Khlong Wan Subdistrict, Mueang District, and Huai Yang Subdistrict, Thap Sakae District, Prachuap Khiri Khan. It has fertile forest conditions suitable for those who want to study nature trails. Moreover, this park is next to the sea. By the sea with clear water, there is a white sandy beach. On the shore there are pine trees for shade. Beautiful views, quiet, suitable for those who want to relax a lot.

Hat Wanakon National Park It was established as the 76th national park on December 30, 1992. The area of ​​the park has a beautiful beach line of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, namely Wanakorn Beach. The total area of ​​coast, beaches and forests is approximately 38 square kilometers. It was originally a National Reserved Forest, Pa Wang Duan and Pa Huai Yang. It is the location of Huai Sai Forest Park in the area of ​​Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan District. Huai Yang Forest Park, Huai Yang Arboretum, and Huai Yang Forest Park are in the area of ​​Thap Sakae District. Later, Huai Yang Forestry Station was cancelled when the Royal Forest Department has a policy to establish a national park. Therefore, this area was transferred to the National Park Division. It has been in operation since 1989. There has been a royal decree specifying the area of ​​Wang Duan forest, Huai Yang forest and nearby islands in Huai Sai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Prachuap Khiri Khan. and Huai Yang Sub-district, Thap Sakae District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province into the area of ​​the Hat Wanakon National Park
