Phra Phutthachai พระพุทธฉาย By the same entrance to Khao Samlan National Park at kilometre 102 and 104, there is a road on the right to Phra Phuthachai, Phra Phutthachai is a red picture outlining the standing Buddha, measuring 5 metres in height, naturally formed by water dripping on the cliff of Phathawi Hill which is located at Wat Phra Phutthachai in Tambon Nong Planlai, Amphoe Muang Saraburi. Phra Phutthachai was discovered in the reign of King Songtham of Ayutthaya during which the Holy footprint at Amphoe Phra Phutthabat was discovered. Phra Phrtthachai has been visited and reverd by Thai Kings and Buddhists since the Ayutthaya Period. Nearby to the right is a mondop enshrining the Buddha footprint; and a holy Pho tree which was brought from Sri Lanka in 1949. Phra Phutthachai fair has been held annually during the fourth lunar month (March) since the former times.
