VIU restaurant of The St. Regis Bangkok is delighted to announce the latest in a series of high profile Guest Chefs, with a 6-course dinner that captures the vibrant energy of Gucci and the philosophy of founding chef Massimo Bottura of Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy (3 Michelin stars) from April 27-29, 2023.
VIU’s commitment to elevating the dining scene in Bangkok through culinary pop-up experiences continues with this exciting event with a world-renowned celebrity chef. The first activation of 2023 introduces the gastronomic experience by Gucci Osteria Seoul, a collaboration between Gucci X Osteria da Massimo Bottura, representing modern Italian eateries located in diverse global cities, each with its own unique character, but united by a shared gastronomic approach.
Executive Chef Hyungkyu Jun and Head Chef Davide Cardellini from Gucci Osteria Seoul, the contemporary Italian restaurant’s third global outpost, after Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills (USA) and Ginza, Tokyo (Japan) will elegantly combine the vibrant spirits of Italian and Korean culinary cultures. The epicurean journey which starts with a “Black Pearl Garden” featuring Kaebia, Korean caviar sought after for its rarity and flavor, followed by “Gambero Scapece”, a contemporary spin on the Gamberi in Salsa Rosa, and “Kimchi Chronicles”, inspired by the classic Radicchio Risotto and representing Italian cuisine paying respect to Korean tradition of fermentation craftsmanship.
For the fourth course, “Fallen Leaves in the Ocean” is a contemporary take on Pesce in Crosta di Patate, followed by the main course—“Rosso e Nero”, a hashed tenderloin dish inspired by the Godfather trilogy originally created when the two Gucci Osteria Seoul chefs worked on a movie-themed event for Gucci.
On the menu of every Gucci Osteria features a tribute dish to the chocolate-loving son of founding Chef Massimo Bottura, and for the luminaries at The St. Regis Bangkok, the Seoul chefs are creating “Viagggio Universale di Charley”, inspired by a black hole and originally created for the 2022 Gucci Fashion Show “Cosmogonie”.
The Gucci Osteria Seoul experience is priced at THB 5,100++ per person for the 6-course experience, or THB 7,800++ including wine pairing, presented from 6:00 PM-10:30 PM from April 27 – 29, 2023 at VIU on the 12th floor of The St. Regis Bangkok.
