Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa has announced the appointment of Pierre Tavernier as its new Executive Chef, as it embarks on an exciting new era of gastronomy on Vietnam’s central coast.

A culinary expert with more than 18 years of experience, Chef Pierre will bring a wealth of skill and creativity to the resort. Having commenced his career in 2005, Chef Pierre had the opportunity to work with Michelin-starred chefs in leading restaurants in France, Australia and Switzerland, where he honed his trade and gained a reputation for crafting exceptional cuisine.

Moving to Thailand, he served as Chef de Cuisine at Meatlicious by Gaggan, the prestigious Bangkok restaurant, before joining the Hyatt family for the first time in 2016 as Chef de Cuisine at Park Hyatt Bangkok. Having impressed during his five-year spell at this flagship hotel in the Thai capital, Chef Pierre was appointed to the role of Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Koh Samui in 2021.

Chef Pierre now brings his lifetime of knowhow and expertise to Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, where he will be responsible for overseeing the resort’s extensive F&B operations, comprising six diverse restaurants, bars and lounges, plus in-room dining, banqueting and catering services.

This appointment comes at a pivotal time for Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, which is preparing to open a series of exciting new and reimagined dining and social venues. The resort has launched Vive Océane, the first beach club restaurant of its kind in Danang. This idyllic alfresco lounge will tantalize travelers’ taste buds with French-Mediterranean and Vietnamese cuisine, crafted using the freshest ingredients and local seafood overlooking the shimmering sea. A show kitchen will add a sense of culinary theater, and the venue will also become a hub for outdoor events with catering from Chef Pierre and his talented team.

Other revitalized venues include Osteria Al Mare, which is being rebranded and relaunched with a creative new concept. Overseen by Chef Pierre and Italian Chef Marco Pistillo, this authentic ristorante will showcase casual and contemporary Italian cuisine including freshly-made pasta and a social “Share Share” concept which is perfect for families and friends to enjoy together. Finally, Terrasse has already been refurbished and reopened for pre-dinner drinks, artistic cocktails and thoughtfully crafted canapés, served amid comfy sofas and “brazero” fire pits.

“We are delighted to welcome Chef Pierre to Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, as we continue to raise the standard of gastronomy on Vietnam’s central coast. Food has the ability to bring people together and create lifelong memories. With Chef Pierre at the helm, we look forward to crafting truly outstanding culinary experiences, including romantic beachfront meals, family feasts, grand gala banquets and more,” said Adrian Pulido, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa.
