Villeroy & Boch, one of the world’s leading premium brands for ceramic products from Germany, invites Thai consumers to celebrate its 275th anniversary by spotlighting special product highlights.

Villeroy & Boch originated in 1748 as a small craft business by François Boch in the tiny village of Audun le Tiche, Lorraine (France).  In 1836, Boch merged with Nicolas Villeroy, producing simple household commodities. Today, Villeroy & Boch enjoys a reputation as a premium brand with global status, renowned for its innovations, heritage and quality design.

A case study for re-invention, Villeroy & Boch has shaped the market and remained an industry pioneer over the centuries. New procedures, material formulations, colours and shapes have taken hold, while ceramic as a durable natural product remains at the company’s centre. The brand can attribute its success and longevity to its ability to respond to political and societal changes and embrace new developments while retaining its core ethos of unbeatable craftsmanship and designs that help a house become a home.

To honour the 275th anniversary year, the Bathroom & Wellness and Dining & Lifestyle divisions of Villeroy & Boch will present very special product highlights:

  • Bathroom & Wellness is launching “Hommage to Hommage”, a new edition of the successful bathroom collection, whose traditional Victorian forms are shown in the trendy new pure black ‘Nero’ shade.

  • Dining & Lifestyle is presenting a new version of its award-winning ‘La Boule’: The successful reinterpretation of Helen von Boch’s “Die Kugel” [The Sphere] from the 1970s has been designed with a reinterpretation of the classic copperplate decor Paradiso for the anniversary. The limited edition piece is available exclusively online while stocks last.

Frank Göring, CEO of Villeroy & Boch, said: “The first products Villeroy & Boch produced were pots and bowls. 275 years later, we use our diverse offering to create holistically designed spaces and worlds of style that reflect the attitude towards life of its customers worldwide.

“Villeroy & Boch realised the value of the home to people at an early stage, shaping the vision that we pursue today: making houses into homes. The bathroom has been more than just a sanitary room for a long time; we help evolve it into a feel-good oasis. While it was complete crockery sets in the past, today, the focus is a diverse product portfolio that makes the table setting and entire home more beautiful with living accessories and gift items.

“The 275th anniversary of Villeroy & Boch represents heritage and the future at the same time. We’re proud of this special company milestone and look forward to celebrating it together with our Thai employees, customers and partners as we continue to write our success story.”

Alongside the notable product highlights, Villeroy & Boch will also lift the curtain on its exciting, humorous and sometimes surprising history, which includes links to famous names such as

artist Helmut Newton and design legend Luigi Colani, adorn the company’s history. The behind-the-scenes insights on Villeroy & Boch’s 275-year journey can be enjoyed through ‘275 Stories’ on the brand’s website.

Villeroy & Boch’s Thailand appointment-only showroom is located on Rama IX, and the brand also has a flagship online store, Villeroy & Boch on Lazada for Dining & Lifestyle products.
