Raffles Hotel Le Royal, the luxury heritage hotel in Cambodia’s capital, will welcome the 25-piece jazz orchestra Biggles Big Band from Amsterdam for a one-night-only performance on Feb. 23.

The band, renowned for playing music from the great swing era, recreates the magical sounds of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and jazz singers like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The band consists of trumpets, trombones, saxophones, guitar, piano, acoustic bass, drums, violins, vocalists and more.

Conductor Sir Adrie Braat founded the orchestra in 1985 and they play popular weekly shows in The Netherlands’ capital every Monday night at the legendary cafe Casablanca.

Tickets for the concert at Raffles Hotel Le Royal are priced at US$40 net per person, including dinner, with room packages starting from $280++ (single) with an additional $50++ for double. Prizes will be awarded to guests at the concert, including staycation vouchers for both Raffles Hotel Le Royal and its sister property in Siem Reap, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor.

The band’s performance in Phnom Penh will mark its first-ever show in Cambodia and part of the proceeds will contribute to the local children’s community. Aside from the concert, the band will also offer a music workshop in Phnom Penh.

The band’s current tour also includes a series of concerts in Thailand.
