IGNIV Bangkok invites guests to a special wine dinner featuring Château Croix de Labrie, known for some of the rarest wines of Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 16, 2024, offering a unique opportunity experience the finest aspects of French winemaking.
The evening promises to be a showcase of gastronomy and oenology, featuring a five-course modern menu created by IGNIV Bangkok’s Chef David Hartwig, Chef Arne Riehn and his team. The menu is designed to pair beautifully with selections from Château Croix de Labrie, including standout vintages such as the Château Croix de Labrie Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, awarded 98 points by wine critic James Suckling, and the Chapelle de Labrie Grand Cru, which has garnered 94 points.
Begin with a selection of snacks from the Summer Menu, including Cornetto—Lettuce and Buckwheat—Crème Fraiche—Caviar, accompanied by sparkling wine, leading into a series of dishes that highlight Chefs’ innovation and craftsmanship. Starters include Duck—Foie Gras—Mulberry and Lettuce—Onion—Truffle, paired with Camille de Labrie Chardonnay, 2022, which is noted for its vibrant citrus and white floral notes.
The seafood course brings Langoustine into the spotlight, complemented by the fresh, berry-laced Camille de Labrie Rosé, 2021. The fish course, featuring Monkfish—Mushroom—Black Truffle, will be enhanced by the rich and complex Château Croix de Labrie, Chapelle de Labrie, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, 2021. The culinary journey peaks with a sumptuous Wagyu Short Rib, matched with the deep and nuanced Château Croix de Labrie Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2019 vintage. The evening concludes on a sweet note with a trio of desserts paired with a carefully selected dessert wine.
Located at the gates of the historical Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage-recognized village, Château Croix de Labrie is acclaimed for its commitment to small-scale production, which allows for meticulous attention to detail and quality. This dedication to authenticity is reflected in the winery’s practices of organic farming and biodynamic viticulture, ensuring each bottle expresses the richness of the terroir.
The presence of a sommelier and an ambassador from MrCru will enrich the wine dinner experience, guiding guests through each pairing and shedding light on the storied legacy and innovative practices of Château Croix de Labrie.
The IGNIV Bangkok X Château Croix de Labrie Wine Dinner, including the full five-course menu with six wine pairings, will be hosted by IGNIV Bangkok at The St. Regis Bangkok on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 6:00 PM for THB 5,500++ per person.
