In a strategic move to enhance its connectivity and meet the growing demand for international travel, Air Astana is set to launch direct flights from Astana to Phuket, Thailand’s largest and most popular resort island, starting October 26, 2024. This expansion further solidifies Air Astana’s commitment to offering superior travel options between Kazakhstan and Southeast Asia, providing travellers with greater flexibility and convenience.
The new direct service will operate three times weekly, with flights scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Departure from Astana’s Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport is set for 21:40, allowing passengers to arrive in the tropical paradise of Phuket by 07:45 the following day. The return leg will depart from Phuket International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 09:30, arriving back in Astana by 16:10 the same day. This schedule is meticulously designed to optimize travel times, making the journey to one of Thailand’s most sought-after destinations as smooth as possible.
These flights will complement the existing Almaty to Phuket route, which operates five times a week but will also increase its frequency to daily service beginning October 26, 2024. The synchronization of these routes ensures that Air Astana passengers have even more options when planning their travel, whether for leisure or business purposes.
All Phuket-bound flights will be serviced by the state-of-the-art Airbus A321LR aircraft. Renowned for its fuel efficiency and long-haul capabilities, the Airbus A321LR offers an unparalleled in-flight experience. The aircraft has 16 luxurious business class seats that can be fully reclined into flat beds, ensuring passengers arrive well-rested. In the economy cabin, 150 ergonomic seats are designed for maximum comfort, each equipped with an individual entertainment system, allowing passengers to enjoy a wide selection of movies, music, and games during their flight.
Air Astana’s decision to enhance its Phuket services reflects the airline’s confidence in the Thai market and its strategy to tap into the growing tourism demand in Southeast Asia. Phuket, known for its pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich cultural heritage, continues to be a top destination for travellers from around the globe. With the addition of these new flights, Air Astana is facilitating easier access for Kazakhstani tourists and positioning itself as a critical player in the regional aviation market.
Round-trip economy tickets for the new Astana-Phuket route start at a competitive price of USD$698, including all taxes and fees. These tickets are now available on the airline’s official website and through authorized travel agencies. Travellers are encouraged to book early to take advantage of these fares, which are expected to attract high demand.
This expansion marks another milestone for Air Astana as it continues to grow its network and improve its services, offering passengers more destinations and greater convenience. Thanks to Air Astana’s new direct service, Phuket is a short flight away, whether you’re seeking a relaxing beach holiday or a cultural adventure.
