Hospitable, the vacation rental management platform dedicated to self-managers, has announced a series of new features set to give hundreds of thousands of hosts the opportunity to professionalize and scale.
From today, Hospitable customers can automatically generate owner statements, conduct additional vetting on guests, provide rental agreements, and customize payment terms, all without prior co-hosting experience. These features, some of which are introduced under Hospitable’s new ‘Mogul’ plan, provide hosts with the professional tools and reporting capabilities needed to transition from managing their own properties to managing properties for others.
Aspects like financial reporting, rental agreements, verifying guests, and settling payment terms have traditionally been difficult for hosts with no experience, requiring extensive resources and expertise that is out of reach for many. With these new tools, Hospitable aims to bridge the gap between self-managers and professional property managers, enabling hosts of any size to professionalize their operations and achieve scalable growth.
Automated owner statements will allow hosts to provide ultimate financial transparency to the owners of the properties they manage. This functionality offers a consolidated view of reservations, commissions, and other transactions, forming a solid foundation for efficient accounting. Hosts can also effortlessly provide rental agreements for guests to sign, enhancing their legal protection.
Additionally, Hospitable has partnered with Autohost to offer ad-hoc guest verification, available soon. This feature allows hosts to conduct thorough checks on OTA bookings, including ID and selfie verification, fraud detection check, social account verification and adverse media checks. Unlike other platforms, hosts can vet guests on an ad-hoc basis, giving them the choice to apply this for properties where the owner has requested it or for new guests. This offers an extra layer of protection beyond the basic checks provided by OTAs.
Hospitable’s new payment terms feature lets hosts set up structured payment schedules on their direct booking websites, ideal for larger properties or longer stays. Similar to OTAs, managers can set split payments (for example, requiring 50% upfront and 50% 30 days before a stay), easing the booking process by avoiding full upfront payments.
Pierre-Camille Hamana, Founder and CEO of Hospitable, said: “The technology landscape in the short-term rental industry has been holding self-managers back from growing their business. Many property management software options have minimum property counts and are tailored to managers already issuing owner statements or rental agreements on their own, making it incredibly difficult for individual hosts, at a beginner level, to transition into managing multiple properties.
“For self-managers, navigating complex aspects of property management like financial reporting and drawing up solid rental agreements can be daunting. At Hospitable, our goal has always been to level the playing field for self-managers and give them access to the resources they need for success. By equipping self-managers with the capabilities traditionally reserved for large property management companies, we’re continuing to break down the barriers that self-managers regularly experience and empowering them to become moguls.”
