Central Retail Corporation, CRC, builds on its commitment to strengthen the local economy by uplifting the quality of life and driving sustainable income for Thai farmers. Launching ‘Jingjai Farmers’ Market’ for the first time in Bangkok under the event name ‘Jingjai Mahanakorn’, Central Retail curates a selection of organic fruits and vegetables, along with over 1,000 items of quality, locally-grown produce that are sold directly to consumers by Thai farmers across the nation.

With all proceeds going directly to farmers and SMEs, Jing Jai Farmers’ Market events have helped 6,632 households and generated an annual income of 200 million baht for Thai farmers.

Mr. Yol Phokasub, Chief Executive Officer of Central Retail Corporation PCL (CRC) commented, “Starting from our intention to help Thai farmers distribute their products to the market, our initiatives have led us to a bigger mission to strengthen the local economy by supporting income growth and enabling sustainable quality of life. In collaboration with local farmers, we have leveraged our capabilities, experience and expertise to improve distribution channels and add value to local products across the entire value chain, successfully accelerating the growth of local economies. Building on this success, we launched the ‘Jing Jai Farmers’ Market’ initiative to distribute quality organic fruits and vegetables in department stores and supermarkets, enabling farmers to sell products directly to consumers. The initiative is also the prototyping model of a 100% plastic-free market, which was first rolled out at Tops Market Central Plaza Udonthani. The model proved to be a success and was launched at 26 branches in 24 provinces across four regions, helping farmers in 624 communities, 359 districts and 6,632 households. These efforts have boosted household income by three-fold and generated over 200 million baht of annual income for local farmers.”

The ‘Jingjai Mahanakorn’ event this year is organized under the theme of ‘Care, Pride and Happiness’. Beyond helping farmers and SMEs, it is also an opportunity to boost end-of-year domestic spending. Visitors can enjoy a variety of local activities and shop from a diverse curation of local products whilst having peace of mind as the event follows strict measures guided by the government in safeguarding against the spread of COVID-19. Shopping on omnichannel platforms are also an option, and customers can choose to shop via Thailand’s number one online supermarket Tops Application – Food & Grocery, Personal Shopper via LINE: @TopsThailand and Grab Mart in Grab application with 1-hour express delivery, maximising convenience for customers in accessing quality products, anywhere, any time.
