Great Wall Motor (GWM) has officially launched in Thailand the 100% EV ORA Good Cat GT, with a stunning sporty design from the ORA brand.

This new variant crafted under the concept ‘Next Level of the Future’ is a perfect combination of wild and elegant design. Thailand’s official launch is the first time outside China that GWM has introduced the ORA Good Cat GT. Its official price is 1,549,000 baht, or 1,286,000 baht after discounts and the government subsidy. Only 500 units are available for reservation starting from 29 June 2022 at 20.00 hrs. to 29 July 2022 at 23.59 hrs. The delivery of the first batch of vehicles will start from November this year onwards. Moreover, the company is also introducing the ORA Good Cat GT PREMIERE DEAL, offering countless privileges with other benefits worth over 131,000 baht.

GWM today organized the official launch of the ORA Good Cat GT in Thailand and gave the price announcement at the GWM Experience Center, ICONSIAM. This emphasizes GWM’s xEV leadership position in Thailand and its mission to drive Thailand towards an xEV society with smart technology for safety, convenience, and eco-friendly driving experiences, while maintaining a user-centric concept to deliver quality products and the best services to customers.  

Michael Chong, General Manager, Great Wall Motor (Thailand), said: “Throughout one year of operations in Thailand, Great Wall Motor has stepped up to be an xEV leader and smart technology provider. Our aim has always been to introduce intelligent and advanced new energy vehicles, and to develop Thailand as our Research & Development center and xEV production hub for the ASEAN market. In the past year, we have successively brought in two hybrid vehicles: the HAVAL H6 HEV, and HAVAL JOLION HEV, and a 100% electric vehicle: the ORA GOOD CAT. Currently, our new energy vehicles are a crucial part of 8,277 users’ lives, the GWM app has nearly 100,000 registered users, and the number of fans in GWM’s official social media exceeds 500,000. GWM is also supporting the EV ecosystem in Thailand by speeding up the construction of charging stations, which includes our G-charge Station, Partner Charging Stations, and Destination Charging Stations. By the end of May, GWM’s charging map on the GWM app was successfully connected to more than 500 charging stations of the three leading power and energy institutions in Thailand: the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, and the Provincial Electricity Authority, covering more than 50% of Thailand’s public charging network.”

“The ORA Good Cat, GWM’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) launched in Thailand, has received epic success since its launch in October 2021, guaranteed by the delivery of 1,748 units. At present, there are still 3,000 Good Cat orders waiting to be fulfilled due to a chip shortage and the 40-500% increase in prices of core components of electric vehicles, fluctuations of oil prices in the world market, logistics issues, the Russia-Ukraine war and the pandemic, which has forced many enterprises around the world to increase EV prices. Consequently, GWM has considered the situation thoroughly and may have to make certain price adjustments for the ORA Good Cat as well. However, with the government’s major incentives for electric vehicles, we will work with our partners in the industrial chain to offer an appropriate price. At the same time, we are also developing and introducing more personalized and innovative products to enrich users’ EV driving experiences and lifestyles,” added Michael Chong.

GWM has announced the price of the ORA Good Cat GT in Thailand at 1,549,000 baht under the ‘ONE PRICE’ policy, where consumers can buy the vehicle at the same price from any channel nationwide. With the government’s EV support and subsidy, the price is reduced to 1,286,000 baht. Reservation is open from 29 June at 20.00 hrs. until 29 July at 23.59 hrs. via the GWM app and website WWW.GWM.CO.TH. 200 ORA Good Cat GTs are ready to be delivered from November – December 2022, while delivery of units 201-500 will be from April 2023 onwards.

Terms and conditions of ORA Good Cat GT reservation

• 1 unit reservation for 1 GWM ID
• Reservations are limited to 500 units in total
• A 10,000-baht deposit must be made within 15 minutes of reservation. If the payment is made after the deadline, the vehicle will be removed to stock allowing others to book accordingly.
• The stock will be updated in real time until 29 July 2022 via the GWM app
• Once the reservation is completed, GWM will sort the unit number according to the deposit payment and will send a confirmation email to your inbox.
• The reservation can be cancelled within 48 hours via the GWM app or Call Center 02-668-8888
• If the reservation is cancelled three times within one day (0:00 – 23:00 hrs.), the system will restrict the reservation process and will open for booking again on the following day.
• After the first 500 successful reservations (with deposits paid), the system will close temporarily until a new batch of reservations is available
• Delivery of the first 200 successful reservations (with deposits paid) will be from 1 November – 31 December 2022
• Delivery of units 201-500 of successful reservations (with deposits paid) will be from 1 April – 31 December 2023

The first 200 successful reservations will also receive an ORA x After You voucher worth 500 baht per user.
