Great Wall Motor recently partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to organize an eco-tourism trip to boost local economies and support the use of environmentally-friendly electric vehicles, commemorating the first anniversary of the HAVAL Owners Club Thailand with a journey from Bangkok to Khao Yai: ‘GWM Owners Club – Drive the Happiness Together’.

The tour on 5 and 6 November 2022 was the first time that Great Wall Motor has partnered with various sectors to organize a fun activity for the HAVAL user community to reinforce its position as a brand that listens to the voices of consumers and prioritizes the user-centric approach. Meanwhile, GWM is allowing consumers to play a significant role in the co-creation scheme in order to become an xEV leader in Thailand, aiming to deliver truly new experiences to consumers.

The ‘GWM Owners Club – Drive the Happiness Together’ activity was organized to celebrate the first anniversary of the HAVAL Owners Club Thailand – a community of HAVAL users, both HAVAL H6 and HAVAL JOLION, who gather through activities on the GWM app – a place where owners can share their stories, activities and mutual interests such as travel, restaurants, sports, and social responsibility activities, with GWM serving as a facilitator. This trip created experiences, happiness, smiles and incredible memories for GWM’s executives, led by Michael Chong, General Manager; Narong Sritalayon, Managing Director of Great Wall Motor (Thailand); the GWM executive team; and HAVAL H6 and HAVAL JOLION users – totaling 60 families in all.

Narong Sritalayon, Managing Director of Great Wall Motor (Thailand), said: “Since the first day that Great Wall Motor began its operations in Thailand, we have delivered a total of 12,807 electric vehicles to Thai people, including a total of 8,883 units of HAVAL H6 and HAVAL JOLION, representing about 70% of our total sales. The HAVAL family will continue to grow in the future and develop a strong user community. Great Wall Motor has emphasized and prioritized our user-centric approach and creating new experiences for customers through our O2O operations over the past year. We are honored to celebrate the first anniversary of the HAVAL Owners Club Thailand and meet with real users. This activity allows us to listen to customers’ voices and let customers participate in the co-creation scheme by sharing their driving experiences and perspectives as consumers directly with the management team. Great Wall Motor appreciates the six initiators and all HAVAL Owners Club members for the friendship and trust they have constantly given us. We will continue to develop and enhance our products and services to bring maximum satisfaction to all users.”

More than 60 families, totaling 160 people, joined the trip to Khao Yai in Nakhon Ratchasima province, driving the All New HAVAL H6 Hybrid SUV and All New HAVAL JOLION Hybrid SUV to participate in various fun activities to support creative, safe and environmentally-friendly tourism. The caravan departed from EGAT Central Office in Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi, then stopped to recharge energy by having a delicious lunch at Khrua TaTip restaurant, located in the Lam Takhong Cholapawatthana Power Station area, before traveling to the EGAT Learning Center in Lam Takhong, Nakhon Ratchasima to see the latest technology and exhibitions along with learning about electric power and sustainable energy. After that, they participated in the volunteer activity to plant a floating forest in the upper reservoir of Khao Yai Thiang 1, with a group of child tour-guides from Ban Dor-Dek. Later, they headed to the accommodation and attended the first anniversary celebration of the HAVAL Owners Club Thailand with executives from GWM Eaksaha Korat and their team. The two-day-one-night event with the user club provided happiness, smiles and precious memories for users and Great Wall Motor, as well as strengthening excellent relationships.

Warit Rattanachuen, Assistant Governor of Research, Innovation and Business Development – Project Management Office of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, added: “The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand is gratified to be an important partner of the ‘GWM Owners Club – Drive the Happiness Together’ project and to commemorate the first anniversary of the HAVAL Owners Club Thailand. This activity is not only promoting tourism in Thailand and boosting the local economy, but also providing a great opportunity for participants to learn about eco-friendly electric power innovations at the EGAT Learning Center in Lam Takhong, Nakhon Ratchasima – a learning source about electric power. The building is designed to use electricity from three types of renewable energy sources: electricity from the Lam Takhong wind turbine project, electricity from a wind hydrogen hybrid system, and electricity from solar panels on the building’s roof. In addition, during the journey, the EleX by EGAT charging stations are ready to serve EV users along the main routes as well. We hope that this cooperation will help boost Thai people’s interest in using electric vehicles more, which will be a crucial part of driving Thailand’s EV ecosystem forward, as well as helping build a green society in Thailand in the future.”

Great Wall Motor, as the ‘Global Intelligent Technology Company’, is committed to inventing and developing quality products and services through high-technology production processes to meet the diverse driving needs of Thai consumers, while continuing to build a complete ecosystem as well as driving the growth of the EV industry in a steady and sustainable manner.
