Both bureaus will assist each other in promoting and attracting business events, especially trade shows. They will coordinate with their respective government departments to organise study trips for Thailand and Japan to find opportunities and cooperation on business events.
The area of cooperation also covers business events training and human resources development – exchanging of experts, trainers and students from their respective MICE education institutions, exchanging of information on business events training courses, curriculum and programs, assistance in establishing cooperation between business events training institutions of each bureau, and sharing special privileges to register seminars or training courses organised by each bureau.
TCEB and OCTB will strengthen their cooperation by implementing the following four measures:
1. Co-organising meetings to exchange cooperation with MICE cities of each country.
2. Exchanging information on the business events market, research and development of business events products,
3. The cooperation between TCEB and OCTB will cover the exchange of delegations to share information and experience in business events development, management, promotion and human resources development, etc.
4. The Memorandum of Understanding on business events cooperation will be in force on 19 December and will remain for a period of five years.
To realise the mutual interests in developing and strengthening business events and to recognise the importance of the business events sector in intensifying friendly and cooperative relations, the signing between TCEB and OCTB takes place on 19 December 2022 in Osaka.
Encouraging the business events or MICE of the two bureaus to establish business contracts with each other and to participate in business fairs, meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions and the like hosted by one or both bureaus, e.g. JATA or IT&CM Asia,
Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB and the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau or OCTB sign the memorandum of understanding on business events cooperation.
Co-organising opportunities for foreign agencies and mass-media representatives to introduce the respective business events potential of Bangkok and Osaka marks a new milestone for the MICE industry to strengthen economic ties between Thailand and Japan for mutual business achievement.
