‘The Lady in Red – Limited Edition Afternoon Tea’ at 1897 Lounge

This year yet again, Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is celebrating the birthday of the iconic Lady in Red with a limited-edition afternoon tea inspired by the Ladies in Red’s passion for craftsmanship, gastronomy and local culture. Executive Pastry Chef Franck Istel and his talented culinary experts are debuting the beautiful afternoon tea that features the remarkable teatime journey celebrating our Lady in Red’s birthday to showcase the warm-hearted hospitality that really brings your experience to life.

Indulge in this finest teatime, featuring the charm of traditional afternoon-tea rituals with a twist of 14 innovative delicacies in beautiful shades of red. The sweet items include the tempting cherry, vanilla shortbread; raspberry madeleine slice; strawberry rice crispy, mango delight; red velvet little choux; and yuzu berry tartlet. The savoury items include the appealing avruga caviar and chive finger sandwich; salmon gravlax, radish and lemon yogurt; prawn salad canapé on a waffle basket; caprese savarin; and boudin noir and raspberry tartlet. This special edition comes with a frozen mixed berry parfait Gugelhupf on the side.

The afternoon tea is not complete without Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok’s luscious scones, which come in three delectably classic flavours – vanilla, strawberry and chocolate – served with homemade strawberry vanilla jam, grapefruit curd and Devonshire clotted cream.

The noble Tea Master Ging Nipaporn Hanwichai has delicately selected some exquisite custom Ronnefeldt tea to pair well with this striking red afternoon-tea launch.

The renowned harpist Ms Tong-Juan Wang elevates the experience with charming live-harp sounds for all to enjoy during the afternoon teatime every Wednesday to Sunday.

The ‘Lady in Red – Limited Edition Afternoon Tea’ is served daily from 5 January until 15 May 2023 from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs at the 1897 lobby lounge, located on the ground floor of Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok.
