System Gym, a popular fitness centre located in Crawford Lane has rebranded as System Muay Thai to focus mainly on offering the ancient martial art of Muay Thai. The gym has moved from its previous location in Spottiswoode Park to a new, larger facility with a fighting ring to accommodate the growing number of Muay Thai enthusiasts.

The decision to make the move to focus on Muay Thai was mostly passion-driven. Head trainer and owner Samuel Phua, a former national rugby athlete, understands that there is no end to learning the art of Muay Thai and he wants to provide a space for Muay Thai enthusiasts of all levels (beginners and advanced) to have a place to continually learn and achieve personal growth in the sport.

Unlike other gyms, System Muay Thai’s training sessions are one-and-a-half hours long and focus on developing fight strategy and IQ. In addition, System Muay Thai will be offering sessions for children aged between 4 and 12 years old, making it a family-friendly destination for fitness enthusiasts. The gym will also have guest trainers from Thailand, giving students a unique opportunity to learn from experts in the field.

System Muay Thai is located on the second floor of a climbing centre in the quiet neighbourhood of Crawford, where traditional provision shops and hipster cafes abound. The gym is a five-minute walk from the nearest MRT station, Lavender.

System Muay Thai offers a range of classes to cater to various skill levels and fitness goals. Each Muay Thai class is 1.5 hours long and includes pad work and technical or clinching elements. Beginners can attend any class except for sparring classes, which are only for advanced students.

The gym also offers a Strength & Conditioning class that focuses on push, pull, leg strength, and core work. This systematic split program is effective and intense, and each class ends with metabolic conditioning that every Muay Thai fighter needs. This class is suitable for both fighters looking to improve their Muay Thai and those looking to get stronger and fitter.

For children aged four and above, the gym provides a Kids’ Muay Thai class that aims to instil discipline, cultivate confidence, and encourage a sense of empowerment. The class also provides a good workout for healthy physical development.

In addition, System Muay Thai offers personalised training programs for busy individuals. These programs include Weight Loss and Strength Training, Muay Thai, Injury Rehabilitation, Postural Issues, and Sports Specific Workout.

For a limited time, System Muay Thai is offering complimentary 2-weeks sessions to members of the media to experience the high-quality training for themselves.
