Asia has taken out the top ten most popular destinations for Aussie families looking to enjoy an overseas vacation together this year. Based on search data from digital travel platform Agoda, Australia’s love of Asia has deepened.

Where once Bali beaches and Bintangs were the big attraction for Australians, our love of Asia has extended far beyond the ‘island of gods’. The cosmopolitan cities of Singapore and Tokyo are luring Aussie families with their dazzling attractions, along with the idyllic Thai destinations of Phuket and bustling metropolis Bangkok rounding out the top five.

With Australians experiencing recent consecutive interest rate rises and cost of living hikes, Asia’s proximity and renowned value is proving irresistible for families eager to reconnect on holiday.

Agoda’s Family Travel Trend Survey, which polled over 14,000 family travellers from 12 markets globally, found the top three family attractions for Australians were visiting landmarks, spending time outdoors and basking on picturesque beaches, no wonder Asia is so appealing to family travellers.
