สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวยอดนิยมในจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ปรากำการณ์ของแม่น้ำสองสายไหลมาบรรจบกันเกิดความแตกต่างที่น่าอัศจรรย์ใจ คือแม่น้ำสายสำคัญสองสายได้แก่ แม่น้ำมูลที่ไหลลงสู่แม่น้ำโขง นั่นเอง ยิ่งในฤดูฝน หน้าที่น้ำหลากจะเห็นแม่น้ำทั้งสองสายที่ไหลมาบรรจบกันเป็นสองสีอยู่คนฝากฝั่ง อย่างชัดเจน ผู้คนต่างพากันเรียกว่า “โขงสีปูน มูลสีคราม” นอกจากชมความงดงามของแม่น้ำสองสีแล้ว ยังสามารถล่องเรือไปตามลำน้ำมูล และลำน้ำโขง เพื่อชมทัศนียภาพ ของธรรมชาติ และผู้คนที่ใช้ชีวิตอยู่ริมสองแม่น้ำทั้งสองฝากฝั่ง แม่น้ำได้อีกด้วย

“โขงสีปูน มูลสีคราม” ยามแม่น้ำทั้งสองสายไหลมาบรรจบกันที่อำเภอโขงเจียม ก่อให้เกิดภาพประหลาดตากลายเป็นแม่น้ำสองสี อันเป็นจุดท่องเที่ยวจุดชมวิวสาคัญของอำเภอ หากใครมาถูกฤดูกาลสามารถแวะมาชมมาเก็บภาพกันได้แม่น้ำสองสีเช่นนี้เกิดเพราะปกติแม่น้ำโขงในช่วงน้ำเยอะจะมีสีแดงหรือสีปูน ขณะที่แม่น้ำมูลมีเขื่อนปากมูลกั้นขวาง ปล่อยน้ำเป็นเวลา ทำให้น้ำมีความใสมากกว่า ดังนั้นเมื่อถึงที่จุดแม่น้ำมูลไหลบรรจบแม่น้ำโขงจึงเกิดกลายเป็นแม่น้ำสองสีอย่างชัดเจนนั่นเองฤดูกาลที่เห็นความแตกต่างของแม่น้ำสองสีที่สุดคือฤดูฝน จุดชมวิวที่ดีที่สุดอยู่บริเวณวัดโขงเจียม และยังสามารถติดต่อเรือนำเที่ยวเที่ยวชมความงามสองฝั่งโขงได้ด้วย การเดินทางไปแม่น้ำสองสี เริ่มต้นเดินทางกันจากอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี เดินทางไปทางทิศตะวันออก มุ่งหน้าสู่อำเภอโขมเจียม ใช้เส้นทางหมายเลข 2222 ระยะทางประมาณ 80 กิโลเมตร แล้วเลี้ยวขวาไปตามเส้นทางหมายเลข 2137 อีกประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตรกว่าๆ แล้เลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าสู่ อำเภอโขมเจียม อีกประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตร จนไปถึงดอนด่านปากแม่น้ำมูล บ้านเวินบึก ก็เป็นอันถึงที่หมาย

 

The Two-Color River View Point is one of the most pular tourist attractions in Ubon Ratchathani. The phenomena of the two rivers converge made an astonishing difference, namely the Mun River flows into the Mekong River. This phenomenon is obviously seen particularly in the rainy season, the two rivers converge in to two distinct colors on different shores of river. The people call it as "Kong Si Poon Mun Si Kham" which means the Mekong River is cement-colored, and the Mun River is indigo color. Besides seeing the beauty of the Two-Colored River, the visitors can also cruise along the Mun River and the Mekong River to see the picturesque scenery of nature and way of life of people who live by the two rivers.

The phenomenon of "Kong Si Poon Mun Si Kham" which means the Mekong River is red lime-colored, and the Mun River is indigo color occurs when the two rivers converge at Khong Chiam District. This phenomenon gives a strange sight to those who see it, and make this place become a Two-Color River View Point which is an important viewpoint of the district. If anyone comes to Ubon Ratchathani in the rainy season, this place is worth to stop by and take pictures. The two-colored rivers like this occur because usually the Mekong River during the season with lots of water, the water in Mekhong River will turn to red while the Mun River is blocked by the Pak Mun Dam, and release water for a period of time make the water more clear. Therefore, when the Mun River meets the Mekong River, it becomes a distinctly two-colored river. The best viewpoint is around Wat Khong Chiam. Besides, the tourists can also join a boat tour to see the beauty of both sides of the Mekong as well. Journey to the Two-Colors River Start from Mueang Ubon Ratchathani District, travel east heading to Khong Chiam District by using the route no. 2222 for about 80 kilometers, and turn right onto route no. 2137 for about 1 kilometer, then turn left into Khong Chiam District, about 1 kilometer until arriving at Don Dan, Pak Nam Mun, Ban Wen Buk.
