Bok Krai waterfall is located in Moo 8, Nam Chuet Subdistrict, Kra Buri District, Ranong, about 54 kilometres from Ranong Town by Highway 4 (Ranong-Chumphon). Between the 556th and the 557th milestones of Highway 4, there is an asphalt road branching from the main highway with a sign showing the way to the fall. Drive about nine kilometres and you will reach a point where you have to get off your vehicle and continue your journey on foot. You will have to walk about 200 metres through plantations and jungles before reaching the destination. The waterfall itself is situated in the Thung Raya-Na Sak Wildlife Sanctuary according to the Royal decree published in the Government Gazette on 10 July 1996. The wildlife sanctuary covers part of Ranong and Chumphon and is under the auspices of the Royal Forest Department. Bok Krai Waterfall is a large year-round waterfall with 11 levels. Trails between each level are quite steep and winding. The first three levels are about 200 metres from a car park. They are not quite high and have water flowing through levels of stones all year round. These levels are very popular among visitors. For those who wish to explore the natural beauty of every level of the fall, a one-kilometre nature trail is also provided. It runs upstream parallel to the river and the fall. Along the route is untouched tropical rainforest growing on fertile soil. There are various kinds of plants found here, for example, Hopea odorata, Anacolosa ilicoides and Hopea avellanea. The forest is also home to a variety of animals, for instance, serows, Malayan sun bears, sambar deer, barking deer, binturongs, gaurs, bantengs, tapirs, nightjars and white-breasted waterhens. Besides, interpretation boards are found along the trail. Visitors should set aside at least one day for discovering the untouched nature along this trail. For those who would like to go hiking here, please contact the wildlife sanctuary office. There are a car park, toilets and restaurants provided by the wildlife sanctuary. In addition, the wildlife sanctuary also has strict opening hours.
