IHG® has signed a management agreement with K.W. Group to bring both the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands to Phuket’s Kata Beach.

Scheduled to open in 2022, the two hotels will be eye-catching additions to The Beach Plaza Phuket, the largest mixed-use development in Kata Beach, located just five minutes from the sea.

Holiday Inn Phuket Kata Beach will have 134 rooms and offer guests a range of dining options and meeting facilities as well as a swimming pool and gym. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Phuket Kata Beach extends the offering to 135 rooms and also features the brand’s signature Great Room.

Serena Lim, Vice President, Development for IHG, South East Asia & Korea, said: “It’s fantastic to continue the expansion of our Holiday Inn brand family in Thailand with the addition of these two new properties, and especially to partner with K.W. Group who have decades of hospitality experience in Phuket.

“We remain on track to double the size of our mainstream estate across the Kingdom in the next three to five years and the combined strength of this partnership will ensure we deliver on our brands’ promise and delight guests when the two hotels open in 2022.”

Holiday Inn hotels deliver warm and welcoming experiences for guests whether they are staying for business or leisure, while Holiday Inn Express is the choice for travellers looking for a simple, engaging place to rest and recharge.

Karn Prachumpan, Director, K.W. Group, added: “With more than three decades of hospitality experience in Phuket we know what travellers are looking for and we believe that Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express are the right brands for this location and guest profile.

“Given the diversity of travellers from across Thailand and around the world who choose Phuket as their holiday destination, these globally recognised brands will provide a well-known brand experience for a range of travelling occasions and needs.”

The Beach Plaza Phuket mixed-use development where the hotels will be situated, will exemplify the government’s newly announced vision to position Phuket as a leading tourism, wellness and long stay destination in Asia.
